2 yr prehistoric purple blue oral cavity and snoring.?

I have a set of 2 year old twin boys. The oldest and biggest of the twins have snored since he was born. Some times very loudly sometimes pretty and sometimes not at all. He really isnt a heavy sleeper he wake up relativly fast. I did catch him gasping for breath while sleeping a couple of weeks ago, and this morning he be still sleeping till 10 am so I got him up and he started to like gag choke for a second and hit mouth were not the normal pink color it be like a very dull white purple blue color... soft blue or purple just very terribly light. His skin color was also companion. After 15 mins his skin and lip color turned to normal. What is up?
