4 year old-fashioned snoring..is this middle-of-the-road?
She appears healthy, but then again when she isnt sentiment well (earache, even when she had pnuemonia) she shows no sign whatsoever of anyone ill.
She snores! Loudly also. I think it's wake her up out of her sleep. She may have a stuffy nose a bit, but she still breathes thru her muzzle at night anyway.
Also, I believe her dad has sleep apnea....is that something that can run contained by the family.
Her snoring worries me because she snores so bad that I enjoy seen her stir a bit, and back to sleeping while snoring.
Hope this make sense...but is it normal for someone her age to snore?
Answers:
It is not normal for a 4 year outmoded to snore. There could be several causes for children to snore. She could have colossal adnoids or tonsils or if she is overweight, that could be a problem too. Talk to your doctor.
my son was the same, other seemed perfectly well even with a cold. at age 5 he was diagnosed next to asthma. his ped said they don't like to diagnose them with asthma since the age 5. it is something you should definitely talk to your doctor just about. it could be nothing or something serious.
Snoring is more common contained by males and people who are overweight. Snoring is obstructed breathing. In addition to disturbed sleep pattern and sleep deprivation, other serious health problems may result. Snoring may also be a symptom of other medical conditions.
Snoring may be caused by lots factors, including:
*poor muscle tone
*excessively bulky throat tissue
*long soft palate
*long uvula
*stuffed or blocked nasal passages
*deformities of the proboscis
*deformities of the nasal septum
Mild or occasional snoring may be helped by:
* losing weight
* establishing regular sleeping pattern
* tilting the head of the bed up about 3 inches
Heavy or chronic snoring may require medical effort.
