Just because no one else have mentioned it, excess weight can lead to snoring. My fiance is a bit overweight and he snores, but not as much as he did when he be fat! You're probably waking up within the middle of the night because you stop breathing.
You need a sleep study. See a neurologist or a sleep specialist. The studies are brand of expensive (about $2000 where I live) but most insurance companies will cover them.
I used to wake myself up adjectives the time snoring. I went for a study and they put me on a cpap and now I sleep close to a baby.
Go to the doctor and have a sleep assessment done. They can give you a machine to comfort you. Or you can try the snore strips at the store and see if they work for you.
I'm in the same situation. I'm 36, 6'0" and 215 lbs, not obese by any ability, but could lose about 30lbs to be healthier. I have two sleep tests done back contained by August of last year and they determined I have sleep apnea. You could too. A sleep question paper will reveal this. During my test, they found that I woke up 45 times. Not that you don't go backbone to sleep, but its the shallow breathing (or no breathting) that wakes you up. Yes, they have these snout strips you can get or therapeutic pillows, but that's merely temporary. I now use a CPAP gadget and I have to admit its a ***** getting used to, but once you carry used to a mask covering your nose adjectives night, you do sleep better and your in better shape the subsequent day. Sleep apnea contributes to other health problems, close to heart conditions and weight. Get tested. See your doctor and I'm sure he will refer you to a pulmonary/respiratory - sleep specialist.
